Mohaqiq hugs man not woman during greeting

KABUL (Pajhwok): Some people circulated a video claiming that Afghan Politician Mohammad Mohaqiq has greeted Former Afghan President Burhanuddin Rabani’s Daughter but Pajhwok Afghan News finding showed that Mohaqiq hugged a man not a woman during the greeting.

A few days earlier, former Afghan politician and former Wolesi Jirga Member Mohammad Muqiq had travelled to Vienna to participate in a gathering and then a video circulated in the social media showing that Mohammad Mohaqiq greeted a well-dressed person with long hair, in the footage Mohaqiq could be seen from the front while another person he greeted was seen from behind.

Sonya Niazi, an x.com user, said: “After the Vienna meeting Mohammad Mohaqiq met with the former President Burhanuddin Rabbani’s daughter, the footage showed that Fatima Rabbani welcomed Mohaqiq and hugged her during greeting, so far it was not ascertained that for which good reason both started greeting by hugging.”

Noor Ahmad, another social media activist, wrote: “After Veinna meeting Mohaqiq visited Rabbani’s house, is it suitable for the daughter of a Jihadi Leader to dress in this way and hag a strange man, it is not allowed in Hindu religion, the rest can you see in a video.

Rahmat Gul Waqar also shared this link and said: “After Vienna meeting Mohaqiq meet Burhanuddin’s daughter Fatima Rabbanni in her house, she welcomed Mohaqiq by hugging him.”

Some other social media users also shared this video and expressed similar views.

Haji Mohammad Mohaqiq told Pajhwok Afghan News: “The two persons seen in a video were men, one is Dawod Hussaini who lived in Austria from the past 25 years and another whose back could be seen is Arif Zafarzada who lived in Germany.”

He said both were well-known Afghans and the fact that both have long hair is their personal choice.

Najim Yalman, another man has shared a video, and said: “Who knows he is man or woman with whom Mohaqiq has greeted.”

In response some individuals has said that this person is man.

Another man had share this picture in response to Yalman’s in which the person is shown from the front.

Outcome: Some individuals have claimed that Mohaqiq hugged a woman during greeting by circulating a video but Mohaqiq rejected the claim and said individuals he greeted were men.

Verdict: Individual hugging Mohaqiq during greeting is a man not a woman.
