KABUL (Pajhwok): The National Procurement Commission (NPC) has given the go-ahead to a dozen projects worth around five billion afghanis.
NPC met under the chairmanship of Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, his office said.
The meeting reviewed 22 projects. Of them, contracts for 12 projects worth approximately five billion afghanis were approved. Three were amended.
It said a committee was also tasked with conducting a comprehensive review of contracts for seven other schemes.
The approved projects include the construction of health centres in remote areas in various provinces, asphalting the second section of the Badghis-Faryab highway, building retaining walls along the route and installing insulators at the Noor-ul-Jihad substation in Herat.
The projects are financially supported by the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) with its own revenue.
