FEROZKOH (Pajhwok): Security forces destroyed 234 drug factories, seized thousands kilograms of different types of drugs and arrested 209 people during the past three months in western Ghor province, an official said on Tuesday.
Police spokesman Maulvi Abdul Rahman Badri told Pajhwok Afghan News: “During separate operations, counter-narcotic forces seized 427kgs F, 5.3kg of opium, 8,077 kilograms ephedra and destroyed 234 drug factories”.
About 87 Falankohc-type, Luxury, Saracha vehicles and motorbikes were seized by security forces. Counter-narcotics department destroyed nearly 250 acres of poppy crop during separate operations, he added.
“Security forces will fight to eliminate drugs and take legal action against people involved in this business,” the police spokesman said.
Meanwhile, residents welcomed the action against drug sellers said cultivation, production and trafficking of narcotics, especially ephedra, had increased dramatically in the province during the last two years and it should be stopped.
