MAIMANA (Pajhwok): A man has been arrested for allegedly beheading a teenage boy in northern Faryab province, an official said on Thursday.
Anti-crimes branch director Mufti Mohammad Ismail Forqani told Pajhwok Afghan News a 19-year-old boy was beheaded by unknown men in Nishar area of Belcheragh district.
He said: “It is not yet clear why the boy was killed. A friend of the victim was sleeping next to him, when the boy was beheaded”.
However, security forces had arrested the boy’s father-in-law and he is currently being investigated, according to Forqani.
Another official told Pajhwok the boy had no enmity with anyone and he was engaged to a girl against 800,000 afghanis recently. He had paid 400,000 of the dowry amount and had been trying to organize his wedding by paying the remaining sum.
Qari Ezzatullah, one of the victim’s relatives, said the young man owned a shop and a tractor and last night when he was sleeping along with another person in front of his shop, unknown persons attacked and beheaded him.
