Heavy rains, flash floods predicted in 22 provinces

KABUL (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation (MoTCA) has predicated heavy rains, windstorms and flash flooding in 22 provinces of the country.

MoTCA wrote on X handle heavy rains could possibly unleash flash floods today (Saturday) in Badakhshan, Takhar, Kunduz, Balkh, Sar-i-Pul, Bamyan, Samangan, Baghlan, Panjsher, Parwan, Kapisa, Nuristan, Kunar, Laghman, Nangarhar, Kabul, Logar, Paktia, Khost, Paktika, Ghazni and Wardak province.

It said the amount of rain is predicted between 15 and 40mm in different areas.

“There is possibility of relatively strong winds with dust in northern, western, southern and central provinces, including Salanng, its speed is expected to be between 50 and 80 kilometers per hour in different places.”
