KABUL (Pajhwok): Deputy Prime Minister for Administrative Affairs Maulvi Abdul Salam Hanafi says Afghanistan and Pakistan as two neighbors have historical and cultural ties in various areas and the caretaker government wants to further enhance these ties.
He made the remarks at a meeting with Acting Afghan Consul-General in Karachi Syed Abdul Jabbar Takhari in Kabul on Sunday, the Presidential Palace wrote on its X handle.
It said Takhari shared views with Hanafi about his mission’s activities in Karachi.
He said they were trying to provide all possible services to Afghans living in Karachi as refugees.
For his part, the deputy premier said Afghanistan and Pakistan, as two neighbouring and Muslim countries, enjoyed historic and cultural relations and the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) desired to further enhance these relations.
He directed officials of the Afghan consulate in Karachi to improve diplomatic ties with the host country and provide better services to Afghan refugees in the port city.
Earlier, Takhari had discussed problems facing Afghan refugees in Pakistan with Deputy Prime Minister for Political Affairs Maulvi Abdul Kabir.
