Nearly 90,000kg of drugs set alight in Uruzgan

TIRINKOT (Pajhwok): The last four months saw security forces seizing nearly 90,000kg of drugs and arresting 84 people in central Uruzgan province, a police official said on Monday.

Police spokesman Bilal Uruzgani said counter-narcotics forces seized and set alight 85,142kg of drugs in Tirinkot and districts during the last four months.

He said during the period, they discovered and destroyed 4,330 kilograms of drugs.

About 84 people have been arrested and produced before judges in connection with smuggling of drugs.

According to Uruzgani, 205 suspects have been detained over different crimes.

More than 1,000 policemen completed training at the Police Headquarters and they would try their best to ensure complete security.
