PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): A journalist associated with a Peshawar-based newspaper has been gunned down in the Nowshera district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
Hassan Zeb, who worked for Daily Aaj, was shot dead by unidentified motorcyclists in Akbarpura area on Sunday, his brother Anwar Zeb told police.
In the first information report (FIR), Anwar Zeb said he escaped unscathed in the attack, which left his brother dead on the spot.
Police are investigating the attack on the 40-year-old reporter, who was a member of the Khyber Union of Journalists and Peshawar Press Club (PPC).
The Khyber Union of Journalists is set to stage a demonstration today against the murder, which was denounced by KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur and Governor Faisal Karim Kundi.
