KABUL (Pajhwok): The General Directorate of Passport is opening three new passport issuing branches in capital Kabul tomorrow (Wednesday) to facilitate the process.
Maulvi Abdul Karim Haseeb, director of the department, told a press conference here that the new branches will be opened in Darulaman, Qala-i-Zaman Khan and Tangi Tarakhel areas of the capital.
He said the number of passports the department issues will increase to 12,000 across the country.
He added each of new centre will be issuing passports to 2,000 people on a daily basis.
The General Directorate of Passport distributed passports to nearly two million people across the country during the past one year, the official explained.
He added the government collected 12 million revenues from issuing the document during the period. He believed the new centres will further facilitate the countrymen.
