KABUL (Pajhwok): Acting Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi on Tuesday asked all Afghans living in foreign countries to return to Afghanistan and live with dignity and in peace in their mother’s land.
In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) said Muttaqi met some former governors in the previous government on Tuesday.
The statement said Muttaqi greeted the former governors on spending a peaceful, secure and dignified life in the country and asked all Afghans living abroad to return.
The former governors said they were happy with the ongoing situation in the country and hoped further developments would come and the current situation would continue.
The Islamic Emirate has established a commission to persuade Afghans living in foreign countries to return to their homeland and so far, hundreds of people, including senior former officials, have returned to the country.
