KABUL (Pajhwok): Deputy Prime Minister for Political Affairs Maulvi Abdul Kabir has promised developing standards of Afghanistan’s universities and education institutions.
He held out the promise at a meeting with Acting Higher Education Minister Sheikh Neda Mohammad Nadeem and governmental university chancellors here on Tuesday.
In a statement from the Presidential Palace, Kabir announced the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) had launched efforts to strengthening the higher education sector.
He underlined the country’s need for professional people would be met by the universities. Significant funds would be given to higher education institutions and universities, whose standards would be raised.
He added the interim government had active political ties with 40 countries of the world. He directed chancellors to behave well with teachers and students and informed them about IEA objectives.
