Ghazni residents demand repair of Civil Hospital road

GHAZNI CITY (Pajhwok): Residents of southern Ghazni province say te government should reconstruct the road leading to the Civil Hospital.

Besides Ghazni city and districts, patients from neighboring Paktika, Paktia and Maidan Wardak provinces also visit the civil hospital, they say.

Ahmad Javed, a resident of Ghazni city, told Pajhwok Afghan News daily hundreds of patients visited the hospital on this road and it showed the route’s importance.

He emphasized the government should repair the road as soon as possible.

Faridullah, another resident, said the road was in bad condition since many years. “Always a lot of water accocumates on this road, car breaks down and the three wheelers sometimes get stuck”.

Noorullah, another resident, said the Civil Hospital’s road should be repaired, because all kinds of patients and sometimes injured people were brought on this road.

On the other hand, officials said the reconstruction of the civil hospital road was one of their priorities.

Mayor Maulvi Mohmmad Nabi Hamza said a number of shops and private properties had been built illegally along this road, which he said considered a serious obstacle to the reconstruction of the road.

“We planned to repair this road, but sometimes owners of private properties make objections, we have appointed a committee to investigate their claims”: he added.
