KABUL (Pajhwok): Acting Minister of Vice and Virtue Mohammad Khalid Hanafi has asked high-ranking security officials of the previous government to invite their partners living abroad to return to their homeland.
He issued the call at a meeting with a number of generals, commanders and other high-ranking security officials of the previous government here on Monday, the Ministry of Vice and Virtue and Complaints (MoVVC) said in a statement.
The former officials hailed the activities of MoVVC and shared their suggestions and problems, including the payment of pensions, arrangement for attendance and provision of necessary facilities.
They also expressed their desire to share experiences in various areas with the security forces of the interim government.
The said about 80 percent officials of the ex-government were living in Afghanistan. And those living abroad could not represent the former officers at international, they explained.
For his part, Hanafi shared information about the importance of curbing vice and promoting virtue in an Islamic system.
He made clear after the general amnesty announced by the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, no one had the right to harass people.
He acknowledged a large number of former officials had returned to the country through the Contact Commission of the caretaker government.
The minister added: “You, as representatives of IEA, invite officials of the previous government living abroad as refugees to return to their homeland.”
Security had been ensured in Afghanistan after IEA’s takeover and all Afghans should take part in the reconstruction of the country, the minister concluded.
