KABUL (Pajhwok): Two new deputy ministers, a governor, three commanders and a district chief have been appointed by the caretaker government.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) chief spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid wrote on his X handle the new appointments had been made in compliance with orders from IEA leadership.

He said former administrative chief for the Spin Boldak district of southern Kandahar province, Mullah Abdullah Bashir, had been appointed as the deputy minister of defence.

Haji Mohammad Ismail has been named as the deputy minister of labour and social affairs, according to the IEA spokesman.

He said ex-deputy minister of defence Maulvi Zarif Muzaffar had been named as the governor of Sar-i-Pul province.

Former administrative chief for Andar district of southern Ghazni province Saliman Agha Baheer has been appointed as deputy governor of Nimroz.

Ex-head of Batar unit at General Directorate of Intelligence Mullah Abdullah Hamad has been picked as deputy governor of Ghazni.

Mujahid announced former judge of Ghazni’s military court Maulvi Syed Agha had been named as head of religious and cultural affairs at MoD.

Former governor of Sar-i-Pul Abdul Rahman Agha has been appointed as the commander of the second brigade of the 209th Al-Fath Corps.

Similarly, ex-director of logistics at the 209th Al-Fath Corps Qari Mohammad Naseem has been made commander of the third brigade of the same corps.

Former deputy governor of Ghazni Maulvi Rahimullah Mahmood had been appointed as the administrative chief for Spin Boldak district, Mujahid concluded.
