32 more unlicensed travel agencies closed in Nangarhar

JALALABAD (Pajhwok): The Information and Culture Department has closed another 32 offices of unlicensed travel agencies providing online services in eastern Nangarhar province, officials said on Thursday.

Officials said the companies will remain closed until they obtained legal licenses for their activities.

Tourism head at the Information and Culture Department Eid Mohammad Hanafi said they had started closing and reforming illegal and unlicensed tourism and online service companies in Jalaabad city.

The department recently closed 32 unlicensed tourism and online services companies and has previously sealed about 100 such offices.

On the other hand, residents said that all illegal travel agencies should obtain legal license.

Naqib Ahmad, one of the residents, said most unauthorized companies fleeced clients by charging too much and doing nothing,

But the Information and Culture Department says legal license contains all principles of operation and no one can cheat.

Earlier, about 100 unlicensed tourism and online service companies were closed in Jalalabad city.
