Paris Olympics set to kick off tomorrow

KABUL (Pajhwok): The 2024 Olympic Games are all set to kick off tomorrow (Friday) in Paris, the capital of France, amid tight security, a media report said on Thursday.

Approximately 10,500 athletes from various countries, including six from Afghanistan, would compete across 32 sports in 329 events, India Times reported.

The games will continue until August 11 in Paris, which has already hosted the Olympics twice in 1900 and 1924.

Where is the Opening Ceremony taking

Some 104,000 people in stands lining the River Seine will watch the opening ceremony, with 220,000 more on raised roadways along a nearly four-mile stretch of the river, says French Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin.
