9-member gang of armed robbers busted

AIBAK (Pajhwok): A group of armed robbers was arrested after an hour-long clash with security forces in northern Samangan province, a police official said on Saturday.

Police spokesman Rahmatullah Rahmani told Pajhwok Afghan News the nine-member armed group was arrested in Kuntal mountain of Dar-e-Sof Bala district.

“These people disturb the society and commit armed robberies in Dar-e-Sof district, and they clashed with the security forces yesterday,” he added.

According to the police spokesman, one of the arrested suspects was injured and police seized two Kalashnikovs and two other weapons from them.

Rahmani said the arrested individuals were residents of Dar-e-Sof district and they had been produced before judges after investigation.
