Musical instruments, hookahs set alight in Nimroz

ZARANJ (Pajhwok): Authorities in southwestern Nimroz province on Monday torched more than 700 musical instruments and hookahs collected by the Vice and Virtue Department officials.

Enjoining good and forbidding wrong director Maulvi Allah Noor Zarqawi told Pajhwok Afghan News they collected about 137 musical instruments and 572 hookahs from different areas and set them alight today.

He said their department was determined to remove evils from the society and needed people's cooperation in this direction.

According to him, local officials, representatives of the intelligence department and the Directorate of Vice and Virtue witnessed the torching of the instruments.
