Help build hospital for treating heart defects, OIC asked

KABUL (Pajhwok): Acting Head of Afghan Red Crescent Society Shahabuddin Delawar has asked the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to assist Afghanistan in construction of a hospital for the treatment of children with congenital heart defects (CHDs).

He issued the call at a meeting with OIC Ambassador to Afghanistan Syed Al-Ayash here on Monday, the ARCS said in a statement.

Delawar urged the largest Islamic bloc to assist Afghanistan in construction of a hospital for the treatment of children with CHDs, health facilities and a tent-manufacturing factory.

For his part, Al-Ayash hailed the services of ARCS in the country and pledged assistance to it.
