Underground business centre construction approved

KABUL (Pajhwok): The Inter-Ministerial Investment Committee has approved the construction of an underground business centre in Ghazni City, the capital of southern Ghazni province, at the cost of 309 million afs, a statement said on Wednesday.

The office of deputy prime minister for economic affairs on its X.com wrote, in a meeting between the members of the inter-ministerial committee and representatives’ private sector, the plan for the construction of an underground market in Kolah Sabz area of Ghazni city was approved.

After comprehensive discussions about a plan about the market, a plan for that investment was approved the referred to economic commission of the IEA for final approval.

The total cost of the project is estimated 309 million Afs, the construction of the total 511 shops have been planned in this market and the project is expected to be completed in two years where hundreds of employment opportunities will be generated for laborers.

The Inter-Ministerial Committee of the government has also discussed plans for the generation of 44.5 megawatts of energy from coal in Sarobi district, generation of other 10 megawatts of solar power and some other plans for the construction of a number of commercial markets in Kabul and northern Balkh provinces.

The inter-ministerial and private sector committees were also instructed to hold more meetings for studying the financial, economic and technical aspects of the approved plans and present their reports back to next inter-ministerial committee.
