KABUL (Pajhwok): Two policemen have been killed in a gun attack in the Dera Ismail Khan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, media reports said on Saturday.
Unidentified assailants targeted police officers who were escorting a vehicle carrying three judges on Friday.
The attack resulted in the deaths of the two policemen, although the judges escaped unharmed, according to Associated Press.
Local police chief Salam Khan confirmed that the attack occurred in Dera Ismail Khan, where, earlier in the week, staff members of a U.N. development agency narrowly escaped injury when gunmen fired on their bulletproof vehicle.
Meanwhile, Voice of America also reported that gunmen opened fire on a police car in the Dera Ismail Khan, resulted in killing of two policemen and injuring as many others.
