MMA contests held in Ghazni to scout talented athletes

GHAZNI CITY (Pajhwok): The Physical Training and Sports Department organized a mixed martial arts (MMA) competition in Ghazni City, aimed at discovering promising athletes in the southern Ghazni province.

Bilal Mujahid, Director of the Physical Training and Sports Department, told Pajhwok Afghan News that the event's goal was to promote MMA within the province and identify the best fighters for the provincial team.

He emphasized the importance of sports for youth and noted that the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) was committed to providing necessary facilities for their development.

Mohammad Amin, an MMA athlete who participated in the competition, expressed his satisfaction with the event and the level of talent displayed.

He suggested that similar competitions should be organized at the district level as well.

About 24 athletes of varying ages were selected for the provincial team based on their performances in the contests.
