KABUL (Pajhwok): The journey of two Afghan female cyclists concluded at the Paris 2024 Olympics.

Friba Hashimi and Yuldoz Hashimi, sisters and athletes representing Afghanistan, competed in the women’s road cycling event on Sunday.

According to the Afghanistan Cycling Federation (ACF), the sisters took part in this race, with Friba completing the challenging 158-kilometer course in 4 hours, 1 minute, and 47 seconds.

Unfortunately, Yuldoz was unable to finish due to pain she experienced during the race.

The Hashimi sisters were among 93 female cyclists in the Paris Games, demonstrating their talent and commitment on the global stage.

In the final standings, American cyclist Kristen Faulkner clinched the gold medal, with Marianne Vos from the Netherlands taking silver after a close contest with Belgium’s Lotte Kopecky.
