SHIBERGHAN (Pajhwok): Construction of houses for 110 returning and internally displaced families has been started in northern Jawzjan province, the provincial Refugees and Repatriation Department said Saturday.
Refugees and Repatriation Director Damla Amanullah Talha told Pajhwok Afghan News: “The shelters are being built for war-displaced and returning refugee families in Aqcha, Qush Tepa districts and Darzab village of Shiberghan city”.
He said the shelters would cost 38.8 million afghanis provided by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and the Afghan Community Rehabilitation Unit (ACRU).
According to him, every house will have two rooms, a hallway and a kitchen.
ACRU head for northern and northeastern zones Mustafa Noorzai said similar houses would be constructed in nine other provinces.
Meanwhile, the housing scheme has provided jobs for 45 people. Totally, 1,120 shelters will be built in nine provinces of the country this year.
