KABUL (Pajhwok): Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs Maulvi Amir Khan Muttaqi says that the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) is committed to fostering positive global relations and aims to prevent Afghanistan from becoming a battleground for international competition.

Speaking at the ceremony marking the third anniversary of the IEA's re-establishment at Bagram Military Airfield on August 14, Muttaqi highlighted the caretaker government's desire for constructive engagement with the international community.

Despite extensive diplomatic efforts with several countries since its re-establishment in August 2021, the IEA has not yet received formal recognition.

During the ceremony, Maulvi Amir Khan Muttaqi said, “This victory belongs to all Afghan people, and these honors are shared by everyone.”

He noted that the IEA not only celebrates this anniversary but also observes and respect August 18, which commemorates Afghanistan’s independence from British rule.

Muttaqi reiterated the IEA’s commitment to maintaining balanced and positive global relations and emphasized the importance of avoiding negative competition among world powers.

Additionally, Mullah Noorullah Noori, Acting Minister of Border and Tribal Affairs, described August 14 as a day of victory and independence for all Afghans.

He pointed out that adversaries continue to impede the IEA’s progress, unable to accept the Islamic system, national unity, and the country’s development.

Noori pointed out that Afghanistan’s resilience, having outlasted three major empires, underscores its invincibility and the Afghan people's resistance to invasion.

He called on both the government and citizens to appreciate the freedom they have, contribute to strengthening the system, and actively participate in the nation’s development.
