Kunar poisoning incident: 3 children dead

ASADABAD (Pajhwok): Three children have died following a poisoning incident involving eight family members in the Watapur district of eastern Kunar province, an official said on Saturday.

Maulvi Najibullah Hanif, the director of Information and Culture, told Pajhwok Afghan News that the poisoning occurred in the Gambir area of the district on Friday.

Of the eight affected family members, three children were killed, while five others are receiving treatment at Nangarhar Zonal Hospital and are said to be in stable condition.

Hanif added that a medical team has been dispatched to the area to investigate the incident. The motive behind the poisoning remains unclear.
