Over 200 sheep prevented from being smuggled to Iran

HERAT CITY (Pajhwok): Security forces have thwarted an attempt to smuggle over 200 sheep into Iran through the Islam Qala port in western Herat province, an official reported on Monday.

According to a statement from the 207th Al-Farooq Corps, the seizure occurred on Sunday night.

Intelligence forces from the 1st Brigade of border forces caught 210 sheep being transported to Kohsan district, with plans to cross into Iran via Islam Qala port.

The statement added that two individuals involved in the smuggling attempt were arrested and have been handed over to judicial authorities for further action.
