PUL-I-ALAM (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Education (MoE) is reconstructing 15 school and three seminary buildings in Pul-i-Alam and districts of central Logar province, an official announced on Sunday.
Logar education department spokesman Shahbour Arab told reporters in Pul-i-Alam, the provincial capital, these schools had been damaged during the past conflict.
He said MoE would reconstruct buildings for these schools during the current solar year.
He added the projects had been presented to open bidding and practical reconstruction work would be kicked off after the completion of the procurement process.
About 1,000 religious seminaries and 7,500 school students would be provided with safe learning environment with the execution of the projects.
On the other hand, residents of the province said they were over the reconstruction of these buildings.
Nimatullah, a resident of Pul-i-Alam, told Pajhwok that he was happy that MoE was restoring the damaged religious seminaries and school buildings in the province.
He said dozens of schools in many districts lacked proper buildings and their students studied under the open sky.
There are about 284 schools in the province, 76 of them are without buildings and 100 others need to be repaired.
