KABUL (Pajhwok): The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) is trying to develop cities in a way not to affect traders and residents, the deputy prime minister for political affairs said on Sunday.
A statement from the Presidential Palace said Maulvi Abdul Kabir met businessmen and vendors of Jalalabad, the capital of eastern Nangarhar province.
The representatives thanked the deputy prime minister for addressing their issues and said such meetings between officials and people had led to increased trust and cooperation between the two sides.
They presented their demands and problems in written to the deputy prime minister and said all shopkeepers and vendors supported the reform programs and regulations by the IEA.
Maulv Kabir said it was the nation’s right on the IEA to resolve their problems, however the government would do what it could within the limits of Islamic values and available resources.
The urban system suffered a lot due to irregularities during the past few decades, but the IEA was trying to find ways and restore the order back and not harm any legal business of the people.
Kabir assured the vendors of Jalalabad city that the local officials would resolve their problems and the government of the IEA wanted to not to harm the people or their businesses.
