KABUL (Pajhwok): A former chief of the Board for Cricket Control in India (BCCI) has been announced as the next chairman of the International Cricket Council (ICC), a media report said on Wednesday.
A statement from ICC said Jay Shah, the former BCCI head, was the sole nominee for the position and he would assume his role as chairman of the world cricket body in December.
ICC is trying to include cricket in the next Olympic Games due in 2028. The current ICC chairman is a New Zealander, Greg Barclay.
