6 robbery suspects arrested in Herat

HERAT CITY (Pajhwok): Security forces have arrested six people accused of robberies in western Herat province, an official said on Sunday.

Police chief Abdullah Ensaf said the detainees were professional robbers and they were arrested during an operation in 13^th police district of Herat City.

He said the arrested suspects had confessed to their crimes and said they had long been involved in stealing mobile phones and vehicles.

On the other hand, in a statement, the police headquarters said a motorbike and other stolen items were recovered from the suspects who were currently being interrogated.

It comes a week after eight people were arrested over robberies in the province.
