KABUL (Pajhwok): Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) Chairman Mirwais Ashraf’s tenure has been extended for three more years, an official said on Sunday.
Syed Naseem Sadat, spokesman for ACB, confirmed to Pajhwok Afghan News: “The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) has extended Ashraf’s tenure for three more years.”
He said the term of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Naseeb Khan had also been extended for another three years at a meeting of ACB members.
"Look, stability is key to success and we are trying to value it," he said. "Over the last three years, we have had one chairman, one CEO and one coach and we changed our captain only once.
“We feel if we want to develop as a cricket-playing nation, we need to focus on stability and don't try to go for chopping and changing," he commented.
Ashraf, appointed as chairman of the board in 2021, completed his previous tenure in August this year.
