KABUL (Pajhwok): At least 12 people, including five German policemen, have been injured in two separate brawls among Afghan refugees in Germany’s Wuppertal city and Paris the capital of France.
Deutsche Welle reported one of the incidents took place on Saturday night in Germany. After police intervention, the fight became more intense, injuring five policemen and four others.
According to French media, a number of Afghan refugees clashed in the limits of 18th district of Paris. The brawl left several people wounded and then French police arrested 18 of those involved.
‘Le Figaro’ put the number of the injured at three but ‘Le Parisien’ said seven individuals were wounded in the clash.
The Paris attorney general said the person involved in the violence had been arrested and charged with gang violence. His case remains under investigation.
‘Valeurs Actuelles’ news site said knives and sticks were also used by the 40 individuals involved in the fight.
Last Friday, the government of Germany repatriated 28 Afghan asylum seekers accused/convicted of different offences to Afghanistan.
After Germany, Austria has become the second European country that plans to deport Afghan migrants convicted of crimes to their homeland.
