Women among 5 killed, 3 injured in Nangarhar pileup

JALALABAD (Pajhwok): Five people, including three women, were killed and three others wounded in a traffic accident involving three vehicles in Surkhrud district of eastern Nangarhar province on Wednesday.

Police spokesman Hafiz Abdul Basir Zabuli told Pajhwok Afghan News the accident took place when a truck, a corolla car and a rickshaw collided in Ring Road area of the district this noon.

He said five people, including three women, were killed, and three others wounded in the pileup.

According to Zabuli, the injured were evacuated to hospital and the bodies handed over to their families by the officials.

Rahmatullah, an eyewitness, told Pajhwok a mother, her two sons, a daughter and daughter-in-law were among the dead.

He added that a young man who had come from London recently in order to get engage was also among the victims.
