KABUL (Pajhwok): Japan has allocated $300,000 million for the protection of Afghanistan’s historical heritages and planned the construction of 165 primary schools in nine provinces of the country, a statement from Arg said on Friday.
It was stated by the Japanese Ambassador to Afghanistan Takeyoshi Kuramaya during a meeting with deputy Prime Minister Mawlavi Abdul Kabir.
The Japanese ambassador praised the Islamic Emirate's fight against narcotics in Afghanistan and said that Japan has announced 10 million dollars in aid to Afghanistan to fight against narcotics.
The envoy said In order to protect Afghanistan's historical heritage and relics and increase the capacity of related institutions, Japan is planning to allocate $300,000 as a first step to the National Museum in Kabul.
The ambassador of Japan in Kabul, while emphasizing on strengthening the relations between the two countries, said that his country is planning to build 165 primary schools in nine provinces of Afghanistan.
He said that Japan respected the values of the Afghan society and Tokyo monitors the developments of the Islamic Emirate and strived to establish relations between the G7 countries and the Islamic Emirate.
Deputy prime minister termed relations between Kabul and Tokyo very important and in the interest of both sides and expressed hope that the promises of the third Doha meeting will be implemented soon.
He said the Islamic Emirate as a "responsible government" had fulfilled all the promises by itself and without anyone's help.
