KUNDUZ CITY (Pajhwok): The construction of a secondary school building costing 25 million afghanis has been completed and put into services in northern Kunduz province.
Zalmai Hanif, the governor’s spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News that the school, located in Aqtash district, includes over 10 classrooms, administrative offices, and other essential educational facilities.
The construction was funded by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).
Hanif said that the new school building addressed previous challenges faced by students, and the local community is pleased with the development.
Mohammdullah, a resident of Aqtash, highlighted the significant improvement: “Previously, our children had to study under tents or outdoors. With this new building, all these issues have been resolved.”
Shafiqullah, another local resident, expressed satisfaction with the new school and urged authorities to continue improving educational infrastructure in remote areas.
Earlier, residents from various parts of Kunduz had called for action to address educational challenges in the province’s more remote regions.
