Renowned Afghan comedian laid to rest in Kabul

KABUL (Pajhwok): A famous comedian, Mohammad Osman Akram, has passed away due to cancer in Kabul.

Social media said famous comedian, Mohammad Osman Akram, was laid to rest in Kabul on Tuesday.

“Mohammad Osman Akram, the country's famous comedian, lost his battle for life against cancer” Sediqullah Tawhidi, former executive director of Afghan Journalists Safety Committee (AJSC), wrote on his X handle.

Meanwhile, the Afghan Independent Journalists Union (AIJU) on its Facebook page announced the death of the comedian an irreparable loss to the people of culture and media in the country.

Akram, who was also known as "Sargardan" and "Aqrab Sargandar", was the founder of "Zanbil Gham" magazine, the host of the satirical programs Talak, Pukhte Prank and the early days of the alarm program on one of the private television channels.
