8 people arrested for digging up historic site in Herat

HERAT CITY (Pajhwok): Eight people have been arrested on charges of destroying and digging up historical places in the Koh Zor district of western Herat province, an official said on Saturday.

Police Spokesperson Abdullah Ensaf told Pajhwok Afghan News eight people have been arrested during a detective operation by the security forces on the charge of destroying and digging up historical places..

He said these people used different methods to dig the ground and destroy historical places.

It is pertinent to mention that a metal detector was also recovered from the arrested persons.
