ASADABAD (Pajhwok): The construction of a primary school building in the Sawkai district of eastern Kunar province has kicked off a cost of 11 million afs, an official said on Sunday.
Education Director Muhibullah Haidari during an inaugural ceremony said the building was being repaired for a school in Zaro village of the district.
He said the project would take eight months to complete.
Funded by Japan, the new structure will have four classrooms and two administrative rooms, he explained.
Haidari added dozens of school buildings were repaired following the efforts of Ministry of Education (MoE).
He said about 350 students would be provided with a proper education environment with execution of the project.
On other hand, residents of the area were also happy over the reconstruction of the building.
Abdul Jalal, a tribal elder of the area, said their children have long been attended classes under the open sky.
He believed their children would be provided with proper environment over the completion of the project.
