KABUL (Pajhwok): Three convicts, including two women, have been lashed publicly in the Sherin Tagab and Pashtonkot districts of northern Faryab province, a statement said on Tuesday.
The country’s Supreme Court (SC) on its X handle wrote that based on the decision of the preliminary court of Faryab’s Pashtunkot district, two women accused of adultery and a man accused of kidnapping a woman have been publically wiped.
Two of the convicts were wiped 39 lashes and a year of imprisonment while the third was wiped 29 lashes, SC explained.
According to the statement, a number of judges, Muftis, scholars, security officials and ordinary people witnessed the execution of the punishment.
Earlier, a convict was punished publicly in Dehdadi district of northern Balkh province.
