Work on infrastructure development project begins in Jalalabad

JALALABAD (Pajhwok): Infrastructure development work at the cost of 18.8 million afs has started in Jalalabad city, the capital of eastern Nangarhar province, officials said on Tuesday.

According to local officials, the implementation of this project in Mumtaz Bagh area of the 7th Municipality District of the city is a part of the development plan of the Municipality.

Jalalabad Municipality Spokesperson Bakhti Jan Murad told Pajhwok Afghan News, the project cost 18.8 million afs has started in the limits of 7th district of Jalalabad and the funds for the project arranged from the Municipality budget.

The project included the construction of a 12 meter wide and 684 meters stretch road, 1,368 meter long sewage channel and 5 culverts, Murad explained.

The implementation of these projects is a part of the development plan of the municipality for 2024 year which would be completed in six months, he said.

The local people are happy about these development project, one of them Mohammad Anwar told Pajhwok Afghan News that both the road of sewage channels were unpaved and muddy which created many problems for the residents.

The work of the project would be of a high quality and many problems of the residents will be solved when completed, Murad said.

The municipality of Jalalabad had speeded up the implementation of development projects in the city.
