BAMYAN CITY/ FAIZABAD (Pajhwok): A person has been killed in a dispute over agricultural water in northeastern Badakhshan province and a dead body was found in central Bamyan province, officials said on Wednesday.
Badakhshan police spokesman Ehsanullah Kamgar said a person was stabbed to death as a result of a clash over irrigation water in Kishim district and the killer had fled.
The clash took place in Baloch village of the district on Tuesday.
Elsewhere in Bamyan, governor spokesman Abdul Sabour Farzan Saighani said a dead body of an 39-year-old man was found in Khawal village at 6:00am today.
The deceased, Ghulam Mahdi went missing few days ago and his dead body was taken to forensic examination for further investigation, he added.
According to the spokesman, no signs of wounds could be seen on the dead body and his family also said that the man was a farmer for many years and had no personal enmity with anyone.
The police statement explained Bamyan governor Maulvi Abdullah Sarhadi went to the area and said the matter would be investigated by relevant authorities.
