Afghan judo athletes bag 9 medals in Iran

KABUL (Pajhwok): Afghan Judo athletes have won three gold, three silver and as many bronze medals in contests in Iran, an official announced on Sunday.

Zabihullah Nazari, Chairman of Afghanistan Judo Federation, told Pajhwok Afghan News the contests were held on Saturday between 230 athletes, including 25 from Afghanistan, in various cities of the neighboring country.

He added Mohammad Reza Qabadi, Qudratullah Qurbani and Javed Sherzad won gold medals while Fawad Siddiqui, Mateen Arbabi and Hafeezullah Mardani grabbed silver medals in these competitions.

Gulabuddin, Zabihullah Sherzad and Qudratullah Begzad won bronze medals in the contests, he concluded.
