HERAT CITY (Pajhwok): A creative young man has showcased the car he has made at the Culture and Information Department in western Herat province.
Roohullah Aziz, a second-year engineering student at Herat Public University, displayed his car on Sunday after four months of dedicated efforts and an investment of 530,000 afghanis.
Aziz, who has a long-standing interest in robotics and machinery, said the car could run at a speed of 120 km/h and that he acquired the necessary parts from the local market.
Having previously built robots and small vehicles, he is now seeking support from government officials for himself and other talented youth.
Maulvi Abdul Matin Adel, head of youth affairs at the Department of Information and Culture, praised Aziz's invention and affirmed the department's commitment to supporting enterprising youth.
He said efforts were underway to create more opportunities and resources not only for Aziz but also for other innovative young people.
This is not the first instance of a car made in the province. Two similar vehicles have been made previously by young men.
