Omar highlights investment opportunities in power sector

KABUL (Pajhwok): Da Afghanistan Breshna Shirkat (DABS) has created good opportunities for foreign and domestic investors in the power sector, says an official.

In a statement on its X handle, the utility said DABS Executive Director Dr. Abdul Bari Omar met Afghan and Iranian investors at his office in Kabul.

Omar said DABS had provided lucrative opportunities both for domestic and foreign investors and efforts were underway to provide more facilities in the power sector.

He added: “The opportunities include construction of power facilities, digitisation of systems and power generation upgrades. We guarantee full cooperation in this regard.”

The investors promised all-out cooperation with the leadership of DABS and expressed their readiness to invest in the sector.

Earlier, the DABS chief said efforts were ongoing to supply Kabul and neighbouring areas 24-hour electricity in the next two years.
