FEROZKOH (Pajhwok): Local officials in Ghor have announced the establishment of a new telecommunications site in the provincial capital, providing services to 24,000 families.
The centre’s opening follows complaints from residents about the quality of telecommunication services and a spate of calls for improvements.
Maulvi Abdul Wahid Hamas, the governor’s spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News the site was inaugurated today (Wednesday).
He said, "This site was activated in coordination with the Ghor Department of Telecommunications and Information Technology by AWCC in the village of Kandol Bash and the DamanaYar Folad area near Ferozkoh."
With the activation of this site, 24,000 families will benefit from improved and telecommunications services.
Hamas revealed three additional AWCC sites were expected to be activated in the districts of Tiora and Chaharsada in the near future.
Some local residents expressed their satisfaction with the establishment of the new site.
Noor Ahmad, a resident, hoped the site activation would lead to better services, as they previously faced many challenges and had limited ability to make calls abroad.
