KABUL (Pajhwok): An Afghan businessman living in Russian has provided 35.5 tonnes of food assistance to Afghanistan, an official said on Thursday.
Mullah Nooruddin Turabi, the acting head of the Natural Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), said the food assistance was provided by an Afghan Businessman and Head of the Afghan Business Centre Nader Shah.
The aid package was handed over the NDMA which would be dispatched to deserving people.
He said Nader Shah provided 25 tonnes of wheat, 7.5 tonnes or 300 bags of rice and three tonnes or 600 bottles of cooking oil.
He welcomed this help and asked other businessmen to help the needy people of the country.
According to him, the institutions have been told that the assistance of this administration is humanitarian and should not be related to politics.
Turabi stated that they will distribute the aid of this department in full transparency.
Abdul Sami Alkozai, the representative of Afghan Business Centre, said the assistance was handed over to the NDMA for distribution to vulnerable people.
He said it was the third aid package of Afghan business centre with the NDMA.
