PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): Pakistan has sought support from the global fraternity, the United Nations and Kabul for the repatriation of Afghan refugees.

Minister for States and Frontier Regions Amir Muqam issued the call during a visit to an Afghan refugees’ camp in the Qila Abdullah district of Balochistan province.

Pakistan would lend all possible help and assistance to the Afghan refugees for a dignified return to their country, the minister promised.

Barring Pakistan, he said, no other country in the world allowed refugees to live without proper documentation.

Refugees were facing health problems, including a lack of drinking water, the minister noted, pledging all-out efforts to resolve the issues.

Muqam assured the shortage of doctors and medicines would also be addressed clean drinking water supplied to inmates of the camp.

He acknowledged the need for providing educational facilities to the children of Afghan refugees and said the government would soon appoint teachers.

Pakistan was providing admissions and scholarships to Afghan students in different universities and colleges, the minister continued.
