KABUL (Pajhwok): The Iranian Human Rights (IHR) organisation says 14 individuals, including two Afghans, have been executed in the neighbouring country.
The watchdog wrote on its X handle 14 prisoners, convicted of drug smuggling and murder, were executed in Shiraz city between September 16-25.
The executed Afghan nationals were identified as Abdullah and Abdul Samad. Iranian officials have not yet commented on the executions.
The rights watchdog expressed its concern over the mass execution of prisoners in Shiraz central prison and called on the international community not to remain silent in the face of such widespread use of the death penalty.
Earlier, the IHR office in Oslo said in a report Tehran had executed 100 individuals, including 11 Afghans, in August 2024.
