KABUL (Pajhwok): Global sports organizations must increase their cooperation with relevant Afghan bodies and athletes and should make sharing experiences a priority, deputy prime minister for political affairs Mualvi Abdul Kabir has said.
The Presidential Palace said in a statement Maulvi Abdul Kabir met with deputy chief of International Kurash Federation (IKA) Haider Farman and his accompanying delegation.
During this meeting, Farman said that the situation of Afghan society under the IEA rule in Afghanistan was much different than what western politicians and media portrayed.
“We held fruitful meetings with multiple Afghan officials about sports in Afghanistan, we try to increase our cooperation in various fields and pave way for sharing more experiences with Afghan players, he added.
Farman said the Afghan athletes had made remarkable achievements, to continue this process, it was necessary to invite more officials of global sports organizations to visit the situation of this country closely.
He described sports as a good opportunity of cooperation between the IEA and the world and insisted on strengthening their bilateral cooperation.
Kabir said capable players of the country had proved during the past few months that they could have good achievements on global level.
He called on global sports organizations to increase their cooperation with relevant Afghan bodies and athletes and make sharing-experiences their priority in this regard.
Referring to extra ordinary gains of Afghan players, Kabir said the IEA supported players and expressed readiness of the government for all kind of cooperation between the government and global sport organizations.
The IEA has plans for training the young generation and their engagement in appropriate fields and due to the prevention of cultivation and use of drugs in the country, the majority of Afghan youths have turned away from bad habits.
